CAREERS IN THE MUSIC BIZ PANEL IS A HIT
The sizeable audience who turned out for the opening panel of Texas Music Month, CAREERS IN THE MUSIC BIZ, on Oct. 1st definitely came away with a better picture of viable careers in music and what it takes to succeed, plus learned much about the industry itself.
Sharing their stories with us were syndicated columnist/author/music critic/reporter Ramiro Burr of the Express-News, Public Affairs Director Aurora Cantu of KZEP Radio, Music Director Mattson Rainer of KNBT-FM in New Braunfels, and Music Ministry Director Jake Hill of St. George Episcopal Church (who also "Illustrated" his story with bits played on the grand piano behind the panelists). Moderator for this event, which was held at the Steinway Piano Gallery at 202 NE Loop 410, was Jerry A. Greene of Jag Music, Multimedia and Publishing.
A question and answer session with the panelists followed and animated groups of attendees later broke up to schmooze on long past the official ending till well after 10pm --- something we always like to see!
